UnderSea Voyager Project

I spent the last month helping out with the Undersea Voyager Project here in Lake Tahoe. These guys were amazing to work with, Scott Cassel the man behind the mission is an diver, filmmaker, sub captain, and explorer. Check out the link above or check out his latest work diving with the Giant Squid which is featured on the discovery channel. Scott was amazing to work with, truly one of the coolest and badass guys I have ever met.

 

     

For this project I was signed on to be the boat operator (28' Almar twin diesel) to help tow the sub around Lake Tahoe and to help with the filming of the documentary about the work here. The Undersea Voyage Project has attracted lots of publicity. A film crew from the Discovery Channel was on the boat for a hand full of days, traveled all the way from London to capture this exploration. 20 year old filmmaker Nathan Garofolos from South Lake Tahoe was on hand filming with his Red One Camera (Camera #998) for an up coming Imax teaser.

Busy Spring

The spring has been amazing here in Tahoe, lots of sun and blue skies. While I have been playing really hard, i've also been busy working on a couple different projects. I'm currently in the process of designing a web site and logo with Alex over at AM Design. I also, have been sifting through tons of media (photo+video) looking for my best content for the site.

 I have captured some great photos the last couple of weeks, check some out.  

Location Scouting

Between editing I have been out hiking around, checking out some of the local waterfalls. Unfortunately, an end of winter cold front has hit us over the last week, poor lighting and really windy conditions. 

However, I figured this would be a great opportunity to scout locations for some upcoming shoots with Tahoe Stock Footage. Stay tuned to learn more about Tahoe Stock footage.

Spring Editing

With the close of the ski season, I finally have some time to look through all the many reels of video I shot this winter. It has been fun looking back on some of the great shoots I was lucky to be a part of. 

I'm currently working on a demo reel "Winter Selects" which I hope to have completed soon. Here is a little edit I made, kinda a self promo, ideally this video will play on the home page of my new web site (coming soon!!).......

I spent the past year working with some of the most talented and creative people that I have ever worked with. We are all storytellers at heart, and we love to tell our stories through video and imagery.

Behind the Scenes High Roller Sunset Shoot

Another busy week of shooting and editing fly's by. Last Wednesday I was lucky enough to be a part of a sunset Photo/Video shoot with the Heavenly High Roller Team. What an amazing shoot, 15 -20 of South Lake Tahoe's best Skiers and Snowboarders got to session in Canyon Park until sundown. 

Terren Gomez was shooting the still images and Dane Henry and myself shot the video. We brought out all the toys, 2 HVX's, Dolly, Jib Arm... Stay tuned for some video footage coming soon. Here is a behind the scenes look at the action.

It's been a long week and a half of shooting, editing and recovering from vegas... did I mention I went to Vegas... long weekend. Really long weekend.

I'm excited for an up coming sunset Video shoot with the Heavenly High Roller Team members. Sunset, Tahoe, Pro Riders, it's sure to be some good footy. Stay tuned for the video.
